Biological Activity

Description Ropivacaine HCl (LEA-103) is an anaesthetic agent and blocks impulse conduction in nerve fibres through inhibiting sodium ion influx reversibly.
In vitro
In vitro Ropivacaine HCl is a local anaesthetic agent. Ropivacaine HCl elicits nerve block via reversible inhibition of sodium ion influx in nerve fibres. The pKa of ropivacaine HCl is ~8.2. Ropivacaine HCl has the potential to induce cardiovascular toxicity and CNS toxicity at high plasma concentrations. [1]
